- Heritage/History
- Clovis John Brooks Lane: At its November 30th meeting City Council approved our request to name the lane. The date of the official opening ceremony will probably be sometime in the spring. RHRA will request opportunities to participate in decisions re placement of the lane-signs.
- Davenport Rd/ Toronto Heritage Trail Network - while the exact historical location of Davenport Trail is still to be finalized, Councillor Palacio has requested that the Bicentennial Steering Committee consider Davenport Road as part of the Toronto Heritage Trail Network.
- Street Beautification
- Street Planters - many thanks for the many evergreen boughs that were donated and arranged in the planters by community members.
- Graffitti - the graffitti in the neighbourhood is worsening. Volunteers are still needed to help maintain the vandalised sites in our area. Thanks to Victor Genova and Julie Mah for their cleaning efforts. Further volunteers are needed. Please contact Florence if you can help.
- Water supplies at Springmount and Rosemount gardens - John Keating is continuing to prepare cost estimates before completing a grant application to Clean and Beautiful.
- Postal Outlet correspondence - a response from Toronto Post states that a new outlet will be opening in February 2010 at Bathurst and Dupont to replace the one closed in the Wychwood area. It was decided that Dick would follow up with a request for an outlet closer to the Dufferin / St. Clair area. Brigid will assist.
- Community Bulletin Board - John and Brigid are continuing to look into this matter. The meeting gave Brigid several suggestions re possible locations for a bulletin board.
- Police Meetings - generally overall crime is down in our area by 22%. However, there is a high incidence of break-and-enter being reported. Home occupants are advised to be more diligent in locking their windows and doors.
- Community Welcome Project - a reminder for people to inform RHRA Exec. of new residents in the community. Please provide the address so a welcome package can be given to the new occupants. This includes renters.
- Winona Drive Pool -- Following this RHRA meeting, it was announced that the TDSB has approved saving Winona Drive Pool as well as eight other pools in the city! More information can be found at www.stclairaquatics.ca Congratulations to all who worked on this issue.
- Planning/Zoning/Construction
- Mt Royal Parkette and Bump-out - Stephanie is still trying to organize a site meeting of Amy's committee with Parks officials. The idea of requesting Toronto Parks and Rec to adopt the bump-out as part of the Mt Royal Parkette was discussed. Dick will meet with Amy to prepare a letter to Councillor Palacio's with the request.
- St. Clair ROW - the project is nearing completion. Presently the streetcars are running as far as Landsdowne Ave with the remainder of the line to Gunns Rd to be completed this summer. The TTC is also working on improving the service. An analysis of the project can be found in a report by Richard M. Soberman entitled 'Getting it Right'. It is available Here.
- St. Clair street trees - a meeting with the contractors to discuss the potential to add additional trees along St. Clair between Winona and Westmount will be held in the spring. In the meantime, trees newly planted already present problems: the square tiles surrounding some tree trunks have settled and are a tripping hazard; many of the trees branches come out at eye level. Some have been broken and left hanging to prevent people walking into them. Stephanie to look into this.
- Garrison Creek Markers - replacing the markers will be part of the spring 'clean-up contract' on the St.Clair project. New markers will be made to replace the ones removed.
- Special Events - The Carol sing was very successful again with about 100 people in attendance. Photos taken of the Carol sing are posted on the RHRA website, www.regalheights.ca

See: www.toronto.ca/involved/projects/2strokes
