“St Clair West in Pictures” reprinting – Library officials have reported that they have collected enough money to proceed with the publication. The library is suggesting a retail price of $20. RHRA Exec. agreed unanimously that it would be difficult to sell the book at that price and that $15 would be a more reasonable price.
- Street Beautification
- Mayor’s Clean-up Day, April 19th – John Keating has agreed once again to co-ordinate the clean–up day for Regal Heights. It will begin at 10 am in the Oakwood C.I. parking lot.
- Daffodil Hill Clean-up – scheduled this year for Sunday April 6th at 10 am.,weather permitting.
- Evergreen seedlings – this year Charles Caccia will once again be offering evergreen seedlings. It was agreed that we should request about 65 trees for delivery to RHRA members.

- Planning and Zoning
- TTC ROW Street Tree Plan – The report from area residents (Community Consultation Group) requesting that additional street trees be planted on St Clair is being reviewed by the project consultants. Mike Foderick will arrange with the consultants to meet the "group" to discuss the request as soon as possible.
- ROW rail stockpiling/welding & transit service – a notice has been sent to the RHRA e-mail list with the details of this next phase of work in our area.
- Special City Projects
- “Live Green”, Conservation Solar Fair, Holy Rosary Parish Hall Tuesday March 25th 5-9 pm - Learn how to live greener! Meet with groups and companies that can help you save energy, use green power, drive less, naturalize your yard, save water, eat local, or plant a tree.
- ‘Zero Footprint’- Dick has set up a test group for RHRA where residents are welcome to join and determine their carbon footprints. It takes about 20 minutes to complete. Details on how to join were printed in the February 19th minutes.
- Street Furniture project – Sarah Lockett of the Regal Heights Village BIA provided us with the recommendations that the St. Clair BIAs will be submitting to the City. It was agreed that RHRA will continue to review data on the Street Furniture program with a view to possibly making a submission to the City.
- Economic Development Consultation – Rosa attended the consultation meeting on behalf of RHRA. She reported that the City is trying to attract companies to establish in communities where local residents would be hired as employees. Grants would be offered as incentives.
- Homes & Gardens TV ‘Green Force Project’- HGTV is seeking "orphan spaces" which they can redevelop as a feature landscape demonstration project, and create a TV program in the process. The meeting gave a few suggestions to Mike F. who may discuss some of them with HGTV. Suggestions raised include: the St. Clair library parkette, the hydro corridor, the green space on the NE corner of Oakwood and Davenport just north of the corner store. Any other suggestions should be sent to either Dick or Mike.
- Watermain construction in Regal Heights – significant watermain rehabilitation will be taking place in Regal Heights this year in the area bounded by St.Clair, Dufferin, Oakwood and Regal Road. Details will be sent to residents in a letter from Councillor Palacio’s office. Some removal of landscaping may be necessary. Residents may wish to remove special plants that are in the path of the construction beforehand.
- Garbage/Recycling and Snow Clearing
Feb 21/08 letter to Councillor Palacio – Mike F. commented on our recent letter. He agrees that this year’s snow removal plan highlights the need for the City to develop an improved snow removal plan. As for the Recycling project, he noted that the last public information night was a disappointment to residents. A survey of the pilot project participants will be conducted soon, and a public meeting will be held to review and discuss residents' concerns with the new bins. Springmount Avenue residents who have long steps to contend with, may be allowed to continue using garbage bags until smaller bins become available. The City-wide roll out plan is expected to go into effect by November 1st.
