As soon as they arrive, RHRA will have 59 copies of the book for sale at $20 per copy. "Profits" of $8 per book sold from this supply will be used for future RHRA projects. We have already received pre-orders for 22 books.

    2. Planters from BIA - 6 concrete planters along St. Clair Ave belong to the BIA and will be permanently removed from the Avenue. They are being offered to RHRA . Florence will follow-up on this with Mike Foderick.
    3. Springmount gardens, tree trimming – the garden has been weeded and the plants pruned. Some of the larger trees need branches trimmed. Florence has contacted Wilf DeHaan, from City Forestry, with this request.
    4. Some generous donations of perennials, received from Mary and Frank Kramer and Sean Bailey, have been planted in the Rosemount gardens and on Daffodil Hill.
    5. Graffiti – graffitti in the laneway between Mt Royal and Alberta Ave north of Davenport is particularly prolific. Mike F. to address.

    1. Carol Sing - arrangements are in progress for the Carol sing to take place in the OCI parkette on Friday December 19th.

  4. Planning/zoning/construction
    1. TTC ROW Phase 3 (Vaughan Rd to Westmount Ave)
      1. work schedule/ Construction Liaison Committee (CLC) – watermain work is expected to be completed by February 15, 2009. Once the spring thaw occurs sidewalk construction will begin. Holes for the tree plantings will be installed at that time. Streetcar service is projected to resume by September 30, 2009 on a basically completed right-of-way. This schedule excludes the installation of tree plantings and bus shelters. CLC meetings with community representatives are held every second week during this construction to deal with the day to day issues and problems that arise. Problems can be forwarded to Mike F. to bring to the meetings.
      2. Street-tree plan – final drawings of the tree plans will be provided to RHRA. A walkabout to review the proposed tree and pole locations will take place in about 2 weeks time. The proposed locations will be marked before the walkabout takes place.
    2. Mount Royal bump-out, funds agreement – a written agreement between Amy Bodman, Dick Watts and Linda DeGiorgio, regarding the $1500 award from the Clean and Beautiful Secretariat, was reviewed by the executive and adopted. The monies are now held in the RHRA Mount Royal Bump-out fund and will be disbursed solely for the implementation of an agreed bump-out improvement plan.
    3. Mt. Royal Parkette: is it turned over to Parks? – No. However, planting by the Parkette Committee can still be done. Proposals must be sent to Mike F. who will clear them with Mike Hindle , Parks Supervisor.
    4. Survey re water-service problems – Councillor Palacio’s office has received many calls with regard to the seemingly arbitrary nature of the quotes given for the pipe replacements on the private portion of properties. Discussions regarding the inequities of the quotes and the need to provide better guidelines and controls over the procedure were suggested. It was deemed to be an issue between the contractor and the individual homeowner. However, Councillor Palacio will be discussing the issues with city officials to consider how to better control private-connection cost matters in future projects. Mike to inquire whether anything is going to be done to have remaining tar stains removed.
    5. Replacement of sod and grass after sidewalk & waterline work – all replacement work is expected to be complete by the end of this construction season: mid-December. Mike F. and Dick will do a walkabout after mid- December to identify any areas that are not satisfactorily repaired.
    6. Road resurfacing schedule in Regal Heights – Mike will forward a copy of the resurfacing schedule to Dick.
